PROJECTS

EDUINTER AND FUNAE
SOLAR POWER PROJECT

SUMMARY
Eduinter and Funae Fundo de Energia awarded Solarquest the installation of five solar power systems for rural schools in Mozambique.

DETAILS
Electrification of 5 schools and administrative posts in the Gondola District of Manica, Mozambique.

IMPACT
The project provided reliable power for primary and secondary school students to access reliable power for afternoon classes as well as added security for administrative posts in the area for teachers and staff.

OXFAMSOLAR WATER TRUST PROJECT

SUMMARY
OXFAM chose Solarquest to implement a large-scale solar water pump in Chazanga, Zambia

DETAILS
The broad scope of the work included inspection, evaluation, and supplying a reliable drinking water network. The distance between the borehole and the tanks was approximately 2km and the distribution network was approximately 3000M. Water was conveyed in high density Poly and GI pipes. Water was safely collected off community taps and Kiosks.

IMPACT
Due to its reliability and sustainability, the project is now under the stewardship of Lusaka Water Supply and Sanitation Company. Peri-Urban communities in Zambia are serviced by these Water Trusts which themselves fall under Lusaka Water as the parent entity.

PROJECTS

FIFASOLAR LIGHTING PROJECT

SUMMARY
Solarquest was awarded a contract for the project FIFA Solar Lighting Football for Hope which would be implemented in the town of Manica, Mozambique and in Bulawayo Zimbabwe.

DETAILS
Solarquest supplied and installed solar street lights for two football fields.

IMPACT
The project provided thousands of underprivileged young people in Africa access to Football for Hope centres. These are invaluable places where young people come together in a safe space for some fun football games. The centres use the power of football to promote health, education, and general well-being to many Africans who may not have access to these vital life skills and information.

WORLD VISIONCOMMUNITY WATER SUPPLY AND IRRIGATION PROJECT

SUMMARY
World Vision awarded Solarquest a solar water and irrigation project for community gardens in Chimanimani, Zimbabwe. This project brought food and water security in the area, transforming lives in the area.

DETAILS
Solarquest installed an 810M pipeline, 45M brehole, and one 10,000L tank.

IMPACT
Over 1000 people were impacted by this project. This water is being distributed to the schools, the school gardens and communities in the area.

SOLAR POWEREDVACCINE REFRIGERATION

SUMMARY
OXFAM chose Solarquest to Thousands of African villages and urban areas lack electricity or a stable grid, depriving millions of people of potentially life-saving vaccinations. Now with the new Covid-19 pandemic, the need for reliable power to support an immense logistical effort to provide vaccines worldwide and save lives is needed more than ever. Vaccines must be refrigerated to be effective, and Solarquest provides the right solution.
